Arrived!

Nov. 30,2012

Arrived

We had two smooth flights (a connecting  flt. in Phoenix) and were happy to meet Mark as we rolled our suitcases onto the  airport tarmac on Wed night. He welcomed us to a pleasant room in his home, so the process of overnighting and getting our refurbished car was efficient, affordable and enjoyable. Mark’s thoughts and comments about Mexico and the world are always interesting (he is British married to a Mexican). We met his delightful wife in the morning before heading towards Roca Azul with lots or errands en route. This part of the world has really become a second home, the idyllic climate is uplifting as is the festive feeling of this culture.

Marta had our house shiny clean, but once we unloaded the16 boxes from storage we managed to mess it up.  Moving in always reminds me of setting up a tree planting camp.  You never know what will work, or what surprises (good and bad) are in the wings.  Marta claimed she had to clean chunks of plaster and dust, as our landlady had not sealed the roof last spring during the rainy season. Mexican houses are a study that we have not yet mastered. But as I write, we are both cozily under the covers in our large room.  So far everything is up and running, including Wi-Fi, hot showers,  the thermal pool  and our now well stocked fridge.

Our Mexican landline is  387 763 1419 (ask the Canadian operator for the preamble, we are in Jocotepec near Guadalajara, state of Jalisco)

We only use Skype – mintzy1
( often the computer is on or email us and we can plan a Skype visit… and we can call Skype to landline for pennies)

The next week will be set up week, lots of washing of sheets and everything, preparing the kitchen with all the basics, seeing my favorite dentist and just
settling in.

Our morning dance and exercise starts Monday, and yoga classes (free) take place on the other side of the lake…..Spanish lessons are on the agenda but for now we are happy having coffee at the table in the backyard while gazing at the Tulip Tree.

Hope everyone is well,

Abrazos,

Evi y Ivan
