Jan. 23/2016 YAY!! WE FINALLY NOW HAVE THE INTERNET AND A LANDLINE PHONE

We had given up bugging the office guys at TELMEX, the monopoly that provides communication in Mexico compliments of Carlos Slim (my least favourtie person).

Three weeks passed and no technician appeared. We decided to go to the source. While shopping in Jocotepec we noticed a few INFINITUM trucks parked. The technicians travel around in these vehicles. We couldn't find anyone around but I had the idea of leaving a note in my "not to perfect Spanish" requesting "Urgencia" service and stating where we lived and how long we had already waited.

Since this was like dropping a penny in a wishing well we continued on to the RC where we swim 3X a week, and enjoy our Saturday Taco man. It was a gorgeous sunny day and usually I take the wheel and drive home. I am making every effort to drive more in Mexico so I feel comfortable doing it and learn where all the Topes are. (they have these raised speed bumps all over the place, if you don't slow down to a crawl, you could easily ruin your car!)

We were headed home after sunshine and merriment. I offered to drive but jokingly said "I'll drive, but not if it involves chasing an Infinitum Truck (the internet providers).

I was about half way home, when our cell phones rang and Ivan answered. The techy guys were heading to our house in ten minutes. So I didn't have to chase a truck, but drove faster than ever and got home to find two guys with all the equipment ready to set things up. It took the 15 minutes!!

This happy news plus my long swim gave me enough energy to start painting silk. I was glad to "get in the groove" and was delighted to find all my supplies were organized and just needed setting up. Four silk scarves are painted and ready for steaming. I love my indoor/outdoor studio.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying life, hello to our dear friends all over the globe at of course in our Gibsons home.

Evi
